What do Bottle Caps do?
You trade them in for Hyper Training, which maxes out your Pokémon's IVs (the hidden values behind each of its stats). A Bottle Cap maxes out one stat, and a Gold Bottle Cap maxes out all six at once ♡
How Hyper Training works
- Where to goMontenevera. Talk to the man with the Abomasnow, right by the Pokémon Center.
- Who can trainAny Pokémon at Lv. 50 or higher.
- What it costsOne Bottle Cap for each stat you want maxed, or one Gold Bottle Cap for all six.
Raid for Ability Patches, then go shopping
This is what we tell EVERYONE who asks in chat! Our Ability Patch Ditto hands over five Ability Patches every single run. Sell them, then buy your Bottle Caps at Delibird Presents.
- Six badges first. Delibird Presents only sells Bottle Caps once you have six Gym Badges, and any six count. You'll find them at Delibird Presents in Mesagoza, Cascarrafa and Levincia.
- It's a one shot. Anyone can join, no build needed, and you can do it again and again ♡
- Want more? Every run pays five more Patches, so every run is another thirty-one Bottle Caps.
Raids that hand over Bottle Caps
Rather skip the shopping? These are the shiny raids that hand over the MOST Bottle Caps, worked out from the game's own reward tables. The rewards are locked in before anyone joins, so everyone in the lobby gets them, every run. Copy a code and paste it in our Twitch chat while we're live ♡

Print Gold Bottle Caps with the Item Printer
The Item Printer in The Indigo Disk picks what it prints using your Switch's clock. Set the clock to the right second and it prints Gold Bottle Caps, the same way every time. One Gold Bottle Cap maxes all six stats, so a few of them go a long way ♡
What you need
- A Master Ball Item Printer. Talk to Reese in the League Club Room to upgrade it as you use it: Great Ball (200 BP), Ultra Ball (500 BP), then Master Ball (1,000 BP), which also needs you to have caught Terapagos. The trick only works at Master Ball.
- BP and materials for one job of five prints. On the materials screen, press X to fill them in for you.
- A stopwatch on your phone.
- 1
Save at the printer
Walk up to the Item Printer in the League Club Room, save your game right there, then close the game completely.
- 2
Change the clock
On your Switch, go to System Settings, System, Date and Time. Turn off Synchronize Clock via Internet, then set the date to January 24, 2018 and the time to 9:28 AM. Start your stopwatch the moment you press OK.
- 3
Get to the menu
Open the game and talk to Reese at the printer until I want to print something shows up. Don't pick it yet!
- 4
Hit the exact second
The magic second is 9:29:28 AM, so 1 minute 28 seconds on your stopwatch. Pick I want to print something so the screen fades to black right on that second. The game lags a tiny bit, so you may need to press a second or two early.
- 5
Print five
Choose to print five times, add your materials and print. You should get seven Gold Bottle Caps across the five prints, plus some Exp. Candy XS.
- 6
Put the clock back
Turn Synchronize Clock via Internet back on when you're done, so your Switch shows the real time again.
- Got different items? You were a second off. Close the game, set the clock back to 9:28 AM and try again, pressing a little earlier or later. It takes a few tries to find your timing, and each try uses materials.
- Flashing yellow lights? If your printer already has the double items bonus going when you do this, the same second prints fourteen Gold Bottle Caps!
- Your time zone doesn't matter. The printer goes by the time your Switch shows, wherever you are.
This trick was figured out by the Pokémon research community, and the time comes from their published Item Printer list. Huge thanks to them ♡
